1-13-25   THOUGHTS

Sometimes less is more!  We try to absorb 4 short verses this morning.  The auditorium class is beginning a Colossians study and these verses occupied my thoughts.  We speak of living a “CHRIST-CENTERED” life,  and verse 4 talks of  “Christ, who is our life...”    I must think!  We are told to “set our minds on things above...”   Jesus warned us that things come “out of the heart.”  We sing the old song “Is Thy Heart Right With God?”  Then comes verse 3!  “For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God.”  Church,  LIFE is in these verses...  so powerful and simple.  Deut 6:4-6    "Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one!  5  "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. 6  These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart.”   Don’t make it hard...  make it FOCUSED!   We must covet Christ’s glorious revealing of us!

Col 3:1-4      Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.  2  Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. 3  For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4  When
Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory.

My Prayer:
Lord, help us to be simple children.  Teach that all is all!  Make us know the joy in ALL!  Give us continual guidance as we “set our minds ...”  Remind us that this world is not our home, that we are just passing through.   Draw us, O Father, into  Your Presence  that we may abide there.   In the name of Jesus who saves us,   Amen.
